The long-anticipated demolition of the former Calvert’s building at 9415 Watson Road began today (January 27, 2025), marking another step forward in Crestwood’s redevelopment. You may remember when this building was a thriving Firestone dealer back in the heyday of Crestwood Mall's activity.
After the mall closed, it changed hands and became a Calvert’s Express auto service business around 2016, but that business didn’t last long, leaving the building vacant for several years.

Back in 2023, Kirkwood Audi rented it as an off-site service location during renovations at their dealership. Shortly after that, Dierbergs acquired the property as part of their ambitious Crestwood Crossing redevelopment project. Kirkwood Audi moved out last year, so it’s exciting to finally see positive progress again along Watson Road.
Once redeveloped, this area will see more updates, including the addition of a “rear drive” to provide convenient access to Watson Road’s signalized intersections at both ends of the strip. While Dierbergs has until 2026-2027 to fully develop this area, they are actively working with potential tenants, and I’m hopeful they can accelerate that timeframe (fingers crossed).
The demolition of this long-vacant building clears the way for new opportunities and a fresh look for Watson Road. It’s exciting to see Crestwood’s transformation continue, and I look forward to the new businesses that will serve our community. Today is another win for Crestwood as we continue to move forward together.
