Primary Election on August 6, 2024

As the primary election on August 6, 2024, approaches, it’s important for Crestwood residents to be well-prepared and informed. This election will determine the candidates for the general election in November. Here’s what you need to know to ensure your voice is heard.

Sample Ballot and Party Declaration

Before heading to the polls, you can view a sample ballot on the St. Louis County Board of Elections website. Since this is a primary election, you’ll need to declare which party’s ballot you want to receive. The options are Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green Party, or Issues Only (no candidates).

Key Races in Our District

Crestwood falls within MO Senate District 1 and MO House District 96.

  • MO Senate District 1: Incumbent Senator Doug Beck (Democrat) is running for a second term. All candidates for this senate seat are unopposed within their respective parties.
  • MO House District 96: Incumbent Representative Brad Christ (Republican) is also running for a second term. Similar to the senate race, all candidates for this house seat are unopposed within their parties.

Ballot Issues

In addition to selecting party candidates, there are two Missouri Constitutional Amendments on the ballot:

If you prefer to vote early, No Excuse Absentee Voting is available nearby at Grants View Library and Oak Bend Library during the following times:

  • Weekdays from July 23 through August 2 (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • Saturday, July 27 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
  • Saturday, August 3 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
  • Monday, August 5 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

This option is convenient and can help you avoid potential Election Day lines. Remember to bring a valid form of identification.
