My time of transition and preparation is nearly complete, and I will be sworn in as Crestwood’s next Mayor on Tuesday, April 25. I’m excited to jump into this new role at such a great time for our city. There are so many positive things happening, and more to come.
I have been honored to serve as Ward 3 Alderman, alongside Alderman Greg Hall during these past four years. I have benefited from Alderman Hall’s experience and wisdom many times and will continue to seek his counsel going forward.
One of my first acts as Mayor will be to appoint a replacement to serve Ward 3 for the remainder of my current term, expiring April 2024. I take this responsibility very seriously and spent considerable time and effort to select the best person to represent my fellow Ward 3 residents.
I am thrilled and pleased to announce that I will be appointing Grant Mabie for this role. As a former Alderman and Mayor, Grant clearly has the most experience and insights of anyone in the city and I know that he will be an awesome Alderman again.
During the past few months, I have been in constant contact with Mayor Mabie and he has graciously shared his thoughts and actively sought my input for current decisions that will impact city business going forward. I truly appreciate his effort to make this a seamless transition.
The April 25 Board of Alderman meeting will be mostly focused on this transition process. Unlike many Board meetings, this one should be fun and somewhat quick. You are invited to come share this important moment and enjoy cookies and refreshments afterwards. I hope to see you there.
