Today I have a big announcement to share – I just filed the paperwork with the City Clerk's office. I am running for Mayor of Crestwood.
Mayor Grant Mabie has done a fantastic job and has provided Crestwood with strong leadership and vision. I am grateful for all the hard work that he has put in to make our community a much better place. He has served honorably, and I am proud to accept his endorsement.
“I have every confidence that Alderman Shipley will continue to build on the recent progress we have made as a City and will be an exceptional Mayor. I hope you will join me in voting for him on April 4, 2023, to become Crestwood's 16th Mayor.” – Grant Mabie, Mayor of Crestwood (via Facebook)
[UPDATE 12/27/2022] - The filing period for candidacy has closed and no one else filed. So I will be running unopposed. During the next few months, I will be meeting with city leaders, organizations, and residents to begin transition planning to Mayor effective April 25, 2023.
Check out this video - join me as I file the paperwork to run for Mayor and then take a quick tour around Crestwood.
Today I am also launching a new “Shipley for Mayor” website at shipley2023.org. That’s where I’ll post information about running for mayor, more videos about issues and ideas, and endorsements for my campaign. Stay tuned.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
