Clean out the closet and the junk drawers!
The City of Crestwood will be hosting an Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, December 3 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 noon at the City Hall Center Parking Lot.
Personnel from Midwest Recycling Center (MRC) will be onsite to help unload your recycle items. So there is usually no need to exit the vehicle. Simply tell the MRC staff member what items you have, where it is located, pop the trunk open if needed, and they will take care of the rest!
It is free to recycle nearly everything with a cord (excluding TV’s and CRT monitors which cost between $5-50 per item – see details below).

MRC Acceptable Items
MRC professionally recycles almost anything that uses a power cord or battery!
Acceptable items include, but are not limited to: Computers, Printers, Keyboards, Laptops, Hard Drives, Monitors*, Cell Phones, Pagers, Radios, Scanners, Speakers, VCRs, DVD Players, Fax Machines, Answering Machines, Televisions*, Stereos, Furnaces, Water Heaters, Air Conditioners*, Microwaves, Power Tools, Kitchen Appliances, Lawn and Garden Equipment
Fees for some items(only Cash and Checks will be accepted):
- CRT TVs 26" and smaller will cost $30.00 each.
- CRT TVs 27" and larger will cost $50.00 each.
- Console/DLP/Rear Projection TVs will cost $50.00 each.
- LED/LCD/Plasma TVs will cost $20.00 each.
- CRT monitors will cost $5.00 each.
- Any Freon containing device will cost $10.00 each.
Lawn & Garden Equipment must have oil & gas removed.
Exceptions:
Smoke Detectors, Glass Lamps, Light Bulbs, Fluorescent Tubes, Alkaline Batteries, Magnetic Media, and Optical Discs are not accepted for recycling at events.
