Things are starting to happen at the new Aldi location (also known as the old Shop-n-Save site). When complete, Aldi will occupy a smaller footprint than Shop-n-Save did, only using the left (western) side of the store.
Workers have been spotted at this location for a while, but so far, no big construction crews. Today I walked by and noticed they were working inside to replace part of the concrete floor (probably removed to install new electrical and plumbing components). In the pictures below, you can see a concrete truck pumping new concrete through a hole in the exterior wall. Interior pictures (taken from left to right) show very early stages of construction.
I don’t have any inside information on when this will be done, but I would expect to see them open this summer or fall.
