The Board of Alderman unanimously appointed a new Police Chief and Parks/Recreation Director at their meeting on December 8.
Jonathon Williams, Lieutenant at Webster Groves PD was appointed as Crestwood's next Chief of Police, replacing Chief Ron Compton who retired earlier this year. Lt Williams has served with distinction for 20 years. He has held a variety of positions, including patrol officer, detective, sergeant and lieutenant. He also completed a detachment with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He has earned numerous commendations, including Webster Groves Officer of the Year. Lt. Williams has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from DePauw University, and a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University. He completed the Command School through the Missouri Police Chief’s Charitable Foundation in 2020. He will report to duty on January 19, 2021.
Eilien Ramierez, the city’s current manager of recreation was appointed to be the next Director of Parks and Recreation, a position that has been vacant for a decade. She brings 24 years of experience in the parks and recreation field and hass overseen the day-to-day operations of the recreation department, Community Center and Aquatic Center since 2017. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education-sports management from Blackburn College in 1992 and is a certified parks and recreation professional and certified aquatic facility operator. She was recognized statewide by the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association as a Distinguished Aquatic Professional in 2014 and as a Distinguished Fitness Professional in 2016. She also serves on the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association’s Board of Directors.
