Fantastic work by Crestwood's Fire Department and Police Department today
during flash flooding to rescue a stranded individual, and to quickly ensure
that no one else was in danger. Crestwood is blessed to have some of the
finest first responders in the region.
Earlier this year, the Crestwood Fire Department underwent extensive training
in water rescue, primarily in case there was an issue in the Whitecliff Park
Quarry lake, but also in case the Crestwood Fire Department had to assist
jurisdictions closer to the Meramec River on a mutual aid call. This was
probably not an area where we would ever expect to have to conduct a water
rescue, but everyone was prepared and performed admirably during rapidly
changing conditions.
